Pergola Vancouver

We made the structure of this beautiful pergola with Fir posts and beams, then installed almost 15 ft long one piece glass on aluminum awning. After completing this task, client decided to have about 200 sq ft of extra deck. We had some challenges to deal with, most important one the height which had to be on the same level of first step to existing deck. Because of slope on land we weren't able to have minimum 2x6 joists (it would've been to close to ground and eventually woods more prone to rot by passing years even with pressure treated lumber). We also didn't like using 2x4 as joist (too weak compare to 2x6 or 2x8, so we used 4x4s sixteen centered sitting on poured slab at as joists and created couple of boxes for access to utility holes.
